Thanksgiving table talk about NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) is over, and the (art) game is on now in South Florida, from a day-long summit to museum talks and special offerings at multiple venues plus the suite of contemporary art fairs during Miami Art Week, through Dec. 5. A handful of the week’s NFT-focused events include:

On Nov. 30, a new ticketed symposium called NFT BZL (Basel) brings together movers and shakers for an all-day series of talks, sales and more.

The flagship fair Art Basel Miami Beach offers an interactive experience for visitors to create NFTs of their own. The German artist Mario Klingemann, aka Quasimondo, will generate AI portraits of fairgoers who can then use the open-source and climate-conscious blockchain Tezos to mint NFTs of their digital artworks. Part of the exhibition ‘Humans + Machines: NFTs and the Ever-Evolving World of Art,’ the immersive show features additional digital artists, along with a series of talks featuring leading NFT artists and experts.

Some Art Basel exhibitors will also offer up NFTs, including Pace Gallery (booth #F08) with work by DRIFT artists Lonneke Gordijn and Ralph Nauta, created collaboratively with musician Don Diablo. The gallery, which just launched its own platform called Pace Verso, will also spotlight a hologram from Glenn Kaino’s digital art project Pass the Baton, which comprises baton NFTs inspired by track and field athlete Tommie Smith’s storied career.

At The Bass on Dec. 1, NFT artist Mike Winkelmann, aka Beeple, joins collector Adam Lindemann, painter Peter Saul and curator Tom Healy to discuss “15 Minutes or Forever? Art in the Age of the NFT.” This talk is by-reservation at the museum and will be livestreamed on YouTube.

Miami Beach’s historic and iconic Art Deco hotel, The Sagamore Hotelhas launched ‘Beyond the Paint,’ offering hotel-wide exhibits of NFTs, audiovisual experiences, fashion shows, music and ticketed events. Some areas will be taken over by BitBasel – Miami’s Crypto Art Community –  featuring a variety of NFTs in addition to paintings.

The first ever NFT artwork collaboration between Snoop Dogg and Coldie entitled Decentral Eyes Dogg went up on a timed auction November 29 – December 3 exclusively on SuperRare and is on view at SuperRare’s curated exhibitions at nftnow x Christie’s and at the Flagler Street Art Festival.
